When Kimberley (Kim), the owner of Jade Beauté, first approached Daisy Designs to develop a brand identity, the business had already been in operation for some time. Initially, Kim ran the business from her home while also holding a full-time job. Eventually, Jade Beauté expanded into a shopfront on the main street of Orroroo, where it is still located today. However, up until that point, Jade Beauté only had a business logo that Kim had created but an overall brand identity was not something Kim had given any thought to. With plans to take the business full-time, Kim knew it was time to develop a brand for Jade Beauté that aligned with her business model.
Jade Beauté offers a wide range of beauty services, including waxing, facials, and makeovers. Kim envisioned the brand as a luxury, high-end beauty salon where clients could come to indulge and treat themselves. To bring this vision to life, we drew inspiration from French boutiques and incorporated a colour palette of emerald green and tones of gold. This choice was made for two main reasons: to evoke a sense of luxury with gold accents and to differentiate Jade Beauté from other beauty salons in the area that typically use blush and pastel colours.
The font style for the logo was influenced by the elegance found in French design. By using exaggerated serif typefaces, we were able to develop unique brand icons and patterns that incorporated elements reminiscent of the Fleur-de-lis, the iconic French symbol for royalty. This further solidified the brand's association with luxury.
Since developing this brand identity, Kim now operates Jade Beauté full-time and continues to invest in training to further develop her skills and expand the business's service offerings.
