Spotlight on Success: Simply Put by Peta

Back when I first launched Daisy Designs, I had the opportunity to work with 'Simply Put by Peta', one of the first businesses I collaborated with. It's been over two years since then, so it was really exciting to catch up with Peta and learn more about her business. Keep reading to discover Peta's journey, how she leveraged systems, and her thoughts on being a small business owner.

Tell us about your business:
'Simply Put by Peta' is all about professional organising with a twist. We believe in productivity over perfection and have a true passion for giving people back their time. We help our clients declutter, streamline, and organise their homes and lives to create a sense of calm and order.

What has your business journey looked like so far?
Well, my love for organising has always been a part of me. When COVID-19 hit, I decided to take that passion and turn it into a business. I realised how much being organised helped me in my own day-to-day life, and I wanted to extend that same help to others who were feeling overwhelmed or struggling with clutter. It's been an incredibly rewarding journey so far.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned since starting your business, and is there anything you'd do differently?
The biggest lesson I've learned is that small business owners truly wear multiple hats and deserve way more credit than they get. We manage every aspect of our businesses, not just the services we offer. From marketing and finance to customer service and operations, we do it all. I have so much respect for fellow small business owners out there!

What are you most proud of within your business?
Hmm, that's a tough one. I think what I'm most proud of is the ability to help people transform their lives through organisation. It's amazing to see how getting things in order can have such a profound impact on someone's daily life and overall well-being. Being able to make a difference like that brings me so much joy.

Where do you see your business in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years, I hope 'Simply Put by Peta' continues to grow and touch the lives of as many people as possible. I'd love to expand our reach and make our organising services accessible to a wider audience. It's all about helping more people find peace and simplicity in their lives.

How do you think engaging with Daisy Designs to build a brand helped your business?
It helped massively, especially when it came to my social media and advertising. My post were inconsistent and couldn’t be delineated from any other business or personal posts. Once Daisy Designs helped with my branding, all of my posts could clearly be identified without even having my logo on them. It made it easy for people to know at a glance while they were scrolling that it was a post from me. It also helped to give me direction with other products and services that I offered.

Finally, what advice would you give to other start-up businesses?
My advice would be to set up your systems early on. It can be tempting to just figure things out as you go, but taking the time to establish solid systems and processes before your business takes off can really pay off in the long run. It'll help you stay organised, efficient, and prepared for growth. Trust me, future you will thank you for putting those systems in place from the start.
