Taking a Pause to Move Forward

Taking a break from business can feel risky — but sometimes it’s exactly what you need to move forward.

Over the past 12 months, Daisy Designs went quiet — no client features, no newsletters, and no social media updates. From the outside, it probably looked like I disappeared. But behind the scenes, I was still designing, still delivering, and still working with amazing clients I’m so proud of.

So, where was I?

A New Life by the Sea

My personal life changed in a big way — including my postcode. I packed up my life (plus three dogs, a cat, a rabbit, and a parrot), drove across the state, and moved into my very own beachside cottage in Port Lincoln. It’s a town I’d never even visited before I bought the house. Some might call that impulsive — I call it daring.

This move was about more than geography. It was about choosing a slower, more connected life. One where I could say “yes” to everything: beach walks, paddleboarding, painting the living room blue on a whim, joining a Dragon Boating team, or spending hours photographing birds in the Lincoln National Park — just because I wanted to.

Rediscovering Me (and the Ocean)

I’ve always said I was a mermaid in a past life — although, quite shamefully, a seasick mermaid. But I’ve never felt more myself than I have this past year, living by the water, exploring this beautiful coastline, and finally giving myself space to breathe.

This time away let me reconnect with my creativity. I didn’t just reset my surroundings — I reset my mindset. I discovered new passions, met new people, and yes, even learned how to renovate a bathroom thanks to YouTube and the Port Lincoln Bunnings team.

But I Never Truly Stopped Designing

Even during this time away, I continued working with a handful of clients — completing existing projects and even launching a brand-new identity for a businesswoman starting a second career. Some of my favourite work happened during this “quiet period.”

But I knew I needed space to ask myself one big question: Was Daisy Designs something I still wanted to do? The answer was always yes.

So… What Is Daisy Designs?

Daisy Designs was born from a dream: to work for myself, alongside passionate small business owners, and help bring their ideas to life through thoughtful, strategic design.

I’ve worked with people across industries — salons, creatives, wellness studios, retailers — delivering brand identities that are not just beautiful, but meaningful. I’ve led workshops for business owners new to the world of social media, helped launch startups with confidence, and introduced videography to help brands show up visually and authentically.

Design is not just what I do — it’s how I help others grow.

What’s Next

We’ve had our reset. Now it’s time to relaunch — stronger, more inspired, and ready to create.

I’m now based in Port Lincoln, serving businesses locally and beyond.

I’m offering branding, design, content creation, and videography.

And yes — I’m taking new clients for Spring 2025!
